TREND: Dulux Colour Forecast 2019
If the two pasts years have putted the color forward, from an extremely graphic point of view and positive impact on our minds, this time the Dulux Colour Forecast 2019 looks different. Indeed, the Dulux trend is more akin to a general state of mind and a need for simplicity and authenticity. Once again straight out of the creative and creator spirit of interior stylist Bree Leech, discover the four trends collected under the aegis of 2019: Filter.
The first of the four trends generated by Dulux undoubtedly calls for freedom of expression. Indeed Identity sets an example in what it is to let imagination, desires and follies speak. It is thanks to a clever mix of colors and textures that Bree Leech and Andrea Lucena-Orr, Dulux Colour Expert, little by little persuade us to break the rules of style. Here, the emphasis is on the environment, which is what surrounds us on a large scale (wall, floor, ceilings) by showing them off thanks to small objects and furniture, and not the opposite.
The two protagonists give a sculptural aspect to the interior by working it in order of magnitude, and therefore of importance. By grouping together warm and cold tones the interior stands out, sporting different universes from one living area to another. Design also has its place in this atmosphere, where, subtly, it appears here and there to better underline the presence of a color but above all, the principle of letting go. We will already notice iconic or upcoming pieces taking part of the Dulux Colour Forecast 2019, like the rug Nudo.Sebastian Herkner for Halcyon Lake and the chair Thonet S 533.Mies van der Rohe, but also the worthy representation of the Australian Design with the masterful Gin dining table.Nicholls Design, the bi-color planters of Studio Ciao or even the Joy armchair.Jardan Furniture.
Legacy tells a story capable of crossing time and ages, as if a colorful palette, old furniture and old family houses had also found a way to persevere, despite the trends, and even better, as if they had found a way to be a part of it. Legacy gives importance to the past that unconditionally influences the present while emphasizing the dear principle of elegance. A palette made up of tones that have marked history (purple – religion, red – royalty) gives the classic codes a bit of madness and unexpected...
The heritage becomes meaningful thanks to the architectural codes pampered and reinvented such as arch-shaped openings and an attraction for grandiose proportions. Here reigns the comfort, not only from a warm and welcoming furniture point of view, but also because of the familiar atmosphere - and family - prevailing there is particularly reassuring. The interior designer has here made the choice to bring classical forms furniture just like the Harkley Sofa.Jardan Furniture and the armchair Ardea for Zanotta.Cult Design, to get them up closer to much more contemporary pieces, such as the small Line Table Lamp.Douglas & Bec, the Arch Table Lamp.Laal or even the coffee table Bell, once again designed by Sebastian Herkner, about Classicon this time. Dulux Colour Forecast 2019 is the announcement of the future of course, but is keen to keep close ties with the foundations of the past.
Repair is the link with the nature we absolutely need in this edition 2019. In fact, wrapped into natural materials, deep greens and reminiscent shades of the ground, Repair is the shelter trend that allows us to reconnect with our roots and our environment. Located in a diffuse time space – Is this the present? A near future? – this universe reminds us vividly of the human adaptability, as if by will or by force, we had to re-compose and re-learn to live with the foundation of our world: the Earth.
Ideal shelter to take the time to heal from our wounds and our fears, this universe of the Dulux Colour Forecast 2019 naturally lets the nature in, giving a lot of space to the plants so that they can flourish there. vintage influences furniture stands here as it could be elsewhere, as if one had searched, found, mottled his few simple pieces or sit and rest in a random manner. Thus, natural materials take over, such as leather and linen, from which furniture is taking inspiration. So we can find the Fri Easy armchair.Jaime Hayon for Fritz Hansen, and many ceramics with a more or less raw appearance as for example those of Debbie Pryor. A very special care has been given to primitive, terrestrial, original colors.
Probably our favorite trend, Wholeself brings us the solution to the extreme visual and sound solicitations that we face every day. A bubble of delicacy and rest is offered to us thanks to a certain mauve-grey, a great novelty in the big family of trendy colors. Wholeself allows us to live according to our own rhythm, to reconnect with our biological clock and a calm and soothing atmosphere. The palette chosen is simple, accessible to all, especially those who usually only swear by white…
The interior designer has been able to give this last atmosphere something luxurious but minimal by bringing new nuances highlighted here and there by neat details, like the mirror aspect or even velvet. In addition, the trend Wholeself speaks more about materials than colors and tends to present an almost monochrome universe, unlike the others. In this vaporous environment, stunning and striking parts encourage contrast, for example the Sculpture Chair.Kristina Dam, the Armchair Big Parapilio.Naoto Fukasawa for B & B Italia, but also the surprising armchair Nuvola by Paul Navona for Gervasoni. After a universe for freedom of expression, one to remember and another to heal, Dulux Colour Forecast 2019 also offers Wholeself, where to gently recharge while learning to tame the neutral tones.
