FAIRS AND DESIGN WEEKS 3735 ViewsBIENNALE EMERGENCES: French Design in the spotlight by Chloé Valette 8 months ago Biennale Emergences, French design, Studiofoam, Caroline VenetBIENNIALE EMERGENCES:French Design in the spotlight. The Bienniale Emergences is an event that is gently rising in the universe of French Design and shows to remember. Indeed, this year the festival showcased a very nice selection of emerging designers that it is essential to follow and know better. Carefully selected by Earlwyn Covington and Frédéric Bouchet, many young design studios have caught our eye, and give us particular faith in the future of contemporary design in France. Find out a selection of quality. Adam Ruiz Designer Adam Ruiz presented in this edition the collection Bleu de Chauffe, in honor of the technique from which he named these lamps, but also got this incredible appearance in color gradient of the metal. A work that stands out by a singular aesthetic and the propensity to make defects, real assets. Bold-design No, it is not an optical effect or even a shadow and light that gives rise to the particular perception that one has of the vases of Bold-design, but the desire to experiment of the designers in terms of3d printing. Indeed, after various tests of frequency, materials, colors, the duo found the perfect chord to give its objects as a projector impression pointed at them, in other words, they create the shadow and light of all parts. And the optics meets the technique! Gaspard Graulich French designer Gaspard Graulich presented its series entitled Prélèvements, or literally mineral forms taken by imprint from the rock in order to give them the status of object. The designer then is playing both sides: the raw, but also the precious, offering an alloy between these mineral forms and legs that look more like furniture, in brushed brass or painted metal. Thus appear new objects, between functional, imitation of nature and art... Lauren Moullet Lauren Moullet is part of the new generation of French Design, concerned about the future how design can be used at best. These projects, here is the Macarena Light and Nimbo Collection, tend to reintroduce the gesture, the tactility between man and his natural environment. In fact, the era is visual and increasingly technological, leaving the material object to be pressed, touch, touching for the benefit of flat, smooth and without surprises touch screens. The objects of Lauren are on the contrary the materialization of the texture, the emotional potential strong and reassuring. Léa Mestres The work of the designer Léa Mestres was without any doubts of those most noticed. Probably because the whole collection draws its inspiration from the imaginary, where we are ready to accept new forms and new materials. The work of the young designer is intuitive and seems straight from a two-dimensional drawing that suddenly came to life. These objects with indistinct forms are the beginnings of a real talent in the category of a singular and sculptural design ... To follow very closely. Marie Vernier-Lopin The very architectural and distinguished Nataliacollection is the result of the meeting between the designer Marie Vernier-Lopin and a mysterious woman of the same name... From this encounter, Mary inherited three texts from this woman, on the theme of theArchitecture, Movement and Russia. The collection is the embodiment of these words and both of the sensation that this encounter has left in the minds of the two women. This reflection on the exchange has given rise to functional objects which we perceive the notion of connection, architecturally speaking. A nice narrative and formal work. Martial Marquet Dirty Connection is a hymn to matter. In fact, the process is based on the back of the plaster decors of classical architecture, allowing this material to get the first role as a major connecting element. Straight out of the mind of the architect and designer Martial Marquet, this collection consisting of a lamp, seats and a mirror, highlights a simple and free technique that allows to obtain objects and furniture under a desired raw appearance and an enjoyable fragility. Samuel Accoceberry Carried out jointly by the art ironworker Bruce Cecere and designed by Samuel Accoceberry, the Moon series of luminaires is halfway between industrial and art ironwork. Its lightweight silhouette, as much in wall-mounted version as floor lamp or sconce, finds its balance in its folded ends in golden brass with pure gold and its structure in oiled steel, with silky touch and quality. This gracile lamp seems in perpetual motion, like a satellite in its run around the planet of French Design. Nice product. Studiofoam Caroline Venet, designer of studiofoam, imagined a special and very light collection from recycled foams. It is therefore from a waste, whose rejection is more than palpable, that a series of objects, whose delicacy and poetry charms us, arose. The Blush collection is comprised of unique objects and vases, where the experimentation is literally authentic between foam, cotton and ceramic. The ceramics divinely captures the flexibility but also the shape of the foam, in a collection that suggests an attraction for recycling within the French Design... Thibaut Lipski Thibaut Lipski is a French designer who considers design as a vector of curiosity, in order to gain access to a new imaginary. In fact, through projects with simple forms, the designer reinterprets the uses in order to give the unexpected, he changes our daily-life functional stuff into objects of curiosity, whose creative spirit is very palpable and the practical aspect is sometimes questioned. Nice spirit. Thomas Ballouhey As always, the work of Thomas Ballouhey is like coming from elsewhere. Underneath these strange objects to the rough and then smooth touch, are yet hidden an extra table and a small container, perfectly functional. We like the hybrid aesthetics which emerges from this collection, as if from one person to another or from one need to another, it was possible to construe these objects according to what suits us... A rare style which definitely stands out. Photo credits: ©Ortus and available on the online shop that selects design pieces in limited editions and in self-production. Wendy Andreu Finally, we have discovered with great enthusiasm the sculptural work of Wendy Andreu, who specifically tackles metal here. Thus, was presented the 8 Legged Stool on Wheels, a seat between extreme functionality and absurdity of its equipment. A singular and massive piece, that goes together with the Fat Pyramid - Regular Pyramid series (in collaboration with Bram Vanderbeke), shelves only made up of plates ofaluminum laser-cut and without bindings. A grandiose and delicate work at the same time, which we like to know in the ranks of French Design. ➡ Be awesome, LIKE and SHARE!T H A N K S Originally posted 2018-10-24 15:05:22.
