2017 is a year in which the French designer will certainly have taken his place in the spotlight, and on several occasions. Indeed, after his Marble Room at the event, which was very well received AD Intérieurs 2017 (Paris) and the exhibition Ocean Memories to the Carpenters Workshop Gallery (New York), Mathieu Lehanneur also found time to design the flagship of the Maison Kitsuné in SoHo.

The small boutique in the fashion district of Paris is a sobering sight. New York was designed, but with a strong architectural element at its heart. The designer masters the invisible, that which is not palpable and yet it is there, allowing the creation of structures, places and objects that communicate directly with the unconscious. Here, Mathieu Lehanneur reminds us of the strong links that have made the brand exist by materialising them like a robust liana twisting with strength and speed around the presentation elements without being able to stop it. Like an unchanging and unavoidable element so that the brand image is complete and true.

This link, this connection represented by this line, is directly inspired by the will of the two creators of the Maison Kitsuné - Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki - to create a close link between France and Japan, and their two passions, fashion and music, within the same entity.

This steel creeper is also a good representation of the work and approach of Mathieu LehanneurThe immaculate, almost medical whiteness of this space is an element dear to the designer, a kind of creative matrix, a blank page essential to the birth of the idea. Moreover, it is worth noting that the designer combines, as usual, the organic with the mineralThis is the way to bring out the sophistication needed in the world of fashion through pure simplicity: dichromate steel, marble, mirror, all materials that lend themselves very well to the game of luxury and beauty...
