At the design shows, and since the beginning of 2018, a slogan is definitely on everyone's lips: "Silver is the new Gold". Indeed, if 2017 did the gold part, and 2016 copper, it is silver, this white metal, more humble and more discreet than will be dedicated this year. Literally meaning "Shiny White", this metal is nevertheless on the dark side being dedicated to the moon, unlike The Gold, celebrating the sun.

In the world of design, all its aspects will be welcome: brushed, polished, polished-mirror, smooth or rough. What really matters is the sacred dimension that the metal is certainly spreading around it. Indeed, money is part of this inheritance that the night of time has left in our minds, for for generations, the trâce of its precious symbolic is engraved in our genes.

Irretrievably attracted to thesilver And its brilliance, designers have taken care to sow it everywhere so that it encompasses us and is an inherent part of our work environments but also of relaxation. Silently, The money Intrudes into the landscape of interior design and architecture, highly prized especially in retail, where its mirror aspect allows to open the field of possibilities on another dimension...

By the way, speaking of mirrors, there is all the subtlety of both the object, but also the material. Indeed, from a scientific point of view, it is a solution of silver nitrate, soda, ammonia and formaldehyde, deposited on the glass, which allows to create themirror effect. This reflection property is of course at the heart of the trend, used for both furniture and ornamental objects.

Finally, it is to be noted that like any noble metal, thesilver Has gone through time and will continue. Much older than us, it will go through the ages of the future especially because it has been sleeping and already an important role to play as an essential component of new technologies. It infuses respect, and of course the preciousness related to jewellery. It is one of the materials that one dares not touch, and yet there and the audacity and the mission of the designers: Finally allow the contact between a holy material and the human being.
