KAZAKHSTAN: A modern jewelry store by S&Tarchitects and Lera Brumina

The jewelery industry has recently become concerned with the presentation of its products and the appearance of its stores. It is true that most had taken the habit of relying on their achievements, or more precisely on the success of their collections. But since a few years, jewelers also take the path of design, and now rely on the expert eye of architects, offering themselves a new opening to the world and above all, enough to renew the interest of the customer.

LUXURY, THE RETURNED HUMILITY

In Astana, a renowned Kazakhstan, the S&Tarchitects agency in collaboration with the designer Lera Brumina designed a store in perfect harmony with the image we are making of 2017: a clean but luxurious space, with innovative materials and soft colors. Indeed, the atmosphere is almost soothing and absolutely non-ostentatious, far from the elitist spirit that can sometimes carry jewelry.

For this purpose, the designers opted for a high part of the walls and a dark ceiling, just to make intimate the place to each customer, recalling somewhat the Blue Niagara proposed by PANTONE this spring. We also notice the use of a green floor echoing the flat color of the ceiling, and which is clearly in line with the Mineral trend currently highlighted (more information on this trend OVER HERE).

Either a simple way to conceive luxury, playing on a delicate balance of good shape in the right place and original material justifying the 2017 luxury version.

OF SOFTNESS

From delicacy in design, to softness in shapes. One could easily make a link between this shop and the Rounded the Angles trend, which tends to restore the round, curved and circular shapes. Because yes, in this area, S&Tarchitects and Lera Brumina left nothing to chance.

We are not talking here about curves in the sense of ornament, but about real architecture, the one that goes far and transforms a need into a precise aesthetic. Here, the rounding is even sculptural and spreads from the wall shelves to the central display, and up to the rug.

The reception desk is part of the the new wave style that are currently emerging in the United States or in Denmark, the one that makes of the design a sculpture in the pure state, even raw. Thus, this piece of wood reminds us, for example, of the work of Brian Thoreenassociated with a mastery of color, straight inherited from the Scandinavian countries.
